21st Century: Query 95 (Thomas Jefferson)
“I never
considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as
cause for withdrawing from a friend.”
~ Thomas Jefferson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Jefferson
Thomas
Jefferson lived in a time when political differences were carried out in a more
genteel manner. He never had the advantage of living through Nazi Germany or the
Trump era – when ugly consequences have occurred because of political and
religious differences. Accepting that while most of Jefferson’s statement is
true, in what ways might his claim be false?
